Grizzy, bottlerockets & mortar

On Saturday afternoon some kids in the neighborhood set off a few bottle rockets. Having been warned that Grizzly doesn't like fireworks I wasn't surprised to see him heading up stairs. He wouldn't let me console him so I thought if he went up and curled up beside my bed (or as Daisy did climb under the covers) it wasn't going to be a big deal.

After finishing the areas under the bathtub and by the door I put up the same 24 inch section of dry wall I had the last time. Well Grizz must have had found the canvas trap in the shower a good spot to hole up - he hopped the drywall and took a tour of the drying mortar leaving a few paw prints behind. At least the mortar had a good 5-6 hours or so to dry so he didn't track it all over the house.

I was really surprised that he hopped clear of the drywall leaning up against the door - I didn't think he could do it. Unlike Daisy he isn't a very enengetic jumper - he can barely make it into the truck. I had checked on the bathroom and found the board still standing so I didn't think he had explored the room - oh but today I discovered the signs of his adventure. No real harm done - I will have to chip some stuff away but the mortar was thick enough just to set his paw prints and not sink in.

I will have to use a higher board to block the door next time.

Grizz &/the bike

It was a warm evening so I decided to but the harness on Grizzly and see if he would like to go for a run. He liked the idea of the longer lead and the slow ride to Casey's to pump up the bike tires was a fine pace. However he wants to keep his nose to the ground and not go for a run. Even pedaling slowly in 2nd gear was too fast as he would stop and sniff. We will try again someday but he didn't have the urge to run hard so I might have to pedal around town now.
