Homer will finally get at Sewer!

A day or two before I put an offer on my house the good people of Homer approved plans to start the Sewer Project.  Had the vote not passed I may have reconsidered my offer as I knew Homer needed a sewer for future growth - especially downtown.

That was November of 2002.  About nine and a half years later construction will begin.  The plant is to be started in April and the distribution system may take another 2 years.  I have a good septic system but I am looking forward to hooking up to the system.  I am sure the town will be a bit of mess for a few years as the lines go in.  According to the plan my sewer connection is to come up the alley from third street.  My line will need to run across the back yard - good thing that is where my septic system so little major changes will be required to make the connection.

"New" tub picked up

I picked up a claw foot tub for my bathroom this morning. It appears Wednesday was my lucky day, I stopped in at the PCAC Salvage warehouse as it was the first recent opportunity when I was by the place when it was open. I go in and inquire about clawfoot tubs. I put my name on the waiting list and find that I am #7 inline. After viewing some of the other matierals I head on home.

Before I can get home I have moved to the top of the list, some people have already picked a few up and others wanted a 4.5, 5.5 or 6ft tub. So this morning I am ready to pick the tub up.

Now I only need to get it refinished before getting it up stairs.

Snow 6+

Home early to work from home. We received 6 inches starting last night and ending about now. The problem is all this snow is from 0.37 inches of perception almost as 20X increase in volume - so this is a dry snow and the winds are picking up.

The problem is the winds are picking up so we are going to have drifting, with the potential of whiteout or ground storms.

The village has the road plowed already so not to hard to get the walk cleared.
