Cable Internet down..

Came home no Internet, cable TV working.  Call Comcast, in short it is time to upgrade my cable modem.  Not wanting to keep paying the modem lease and not wanting to wait for two days for a tech to come I head to town as I missed next day shipping from Amazon by about 30 minutes.

Check around, one store I wanted to check closed, Office Depot had a 2.0 version for $59, HH Greg nothing so head to Best Buy.  What do you know they have the model I was looking for the SB6121 and the "new" model mentioned in a Blog post from 2012.  So since they have it listed as supported by Comcast printed on the box I go for the "better" modle over the SB6121 for $10 less.  See review below:

SB6141 So with the $3.99 next day charge purchasing from Best Buy ends up being a wash at $89 yet it enable me to get my internet running tonight.

I get it home and call Comcast - give them the MAC address and by the time the tech has researched a way to save me $10 a month by adding phone service my internet is working again.  Not super fast maybe 18.8 but for a week night that is ok.  Note in the picture of the installed device and the instructions that I am green, blue, blue, green and blue.  That means power, high speed multi channel bonded download (read review to understand), high speed bounded upload, internet working and gigbit connection to the router.

Now I just need to empty the DVR and return the cable TV equipment to save some real money on my Comcast bill.
