Deadboy & the Elephantmen at the Highdive

Morning of Sunday Feb 19th Weekend Editon Sunday reported on a band on the road from Houma LA. NPR has been keeping an eye on Houma so I don't know if it was the music and the fact that they were in D.C. that got them invited in. Thursday Feb 23 the News Gazzette ect section report that the Fierry Furnaces are going to be at the Highdive on Saturday and deadboy & the Elphantmen are opening for them. Well not 4 days since I had heard the report - how could I not go. (Check out the NPR story link above - also has 3 mp3s)

As for the show it was a good night a semi local band out of the Chicago area openend for the opening act. They are an interesting act - 2 people, the guy on the guitar, girl on the drums. Good act. Interesting CD - I will discus it later.

The third act the Fiery Furnances are a brother and sister act but they reversed the roles the girl singing lead vocals on most songs and playing the guitar some with her bother playing the guitar and backed up by a base guitar and drummer. Posted by Picasa
